The short version
The Kana Trail app collects no personal data. This website uses Google Analytics only to count visits - nothing that identifies you.
What we collect
From the app: nothing. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no trackers. We never see your name, email address, location, or anything else about you. This website collects anonymous visit counts - see "This website" below.
Where your progress lives
Your learning progress, settings, and any mnemonics you write are stored only on your own device. They are never uploaded to us or anyone else. If you clear your browser data or uninstall the app, that data is deleted - we have no copy to restore.
This website
kanatrail.com uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. This sets a small cookie in your browser and sends standard visit data to Google: which pages you viewed, roughly where you are (country or city level), and what kind of device and browser you used. It does not tell us who you are - we never see names, email addresses, or exact locations, and Google Analytics does not store your IP address. You can read Google's privacy policy, or block analytics entirely with a browser ad blocker - the site works exactly the same either way. The app itself contains no analytics at all.
Children
The app collects no data at all, and the website's visit counting cannot identify anyone. There is no personal information from anyone - including children - to worry about.
Changes
If this policy ever changes (for example, if optional sync is added someday), we will update this page and note the date above before the change takes effect.
